Special ball bearings are available from Tata Bearings to suit some specific applications. The basic design principle of these types of bearings are of Deep Groove Ball Bearings but many features have been added to take care of high angular misalignment, special purpose double lip seals, etc.

Tata Bearings offers its customers special ball bearings (SP & SEL Series) in different sizes for crank shaft applications, propellor shaft, all wheels, etc. The load capacities mentioned in the table are in accordance with ISO 76 & ISO 281:1997 (E). Some of these special bearings are available with extended inner race and some with extended outer race with special groove required for fitment. Tata Bearings production plan is flexible and can be tailored to address the specific requirements of customers. Deep Groove Ball Bearings

Deep Groove Ball Bearings from Tata Bearings come with race dimensions close to the dimensions of the balls that run in it. These have higher load rating for their size, but are less tolerant of misalignment of the inner and outer races. These rigid, non-separable radial bearings comprise of the inner race, outer race, balls and cage, where the inner and outer race have deep grooves within which the balls move. The groove radii are slightly greater than the ball radii. This geometry of the grooves makes the high radial and axial load bearing capacities, and also for combined loads. This range of Tata Bearings find extensive use in two wheelers, passenger cars, commercial vehicles, white goods, pumps and motors.

The range comprises of standard single row deep groove ball bearings in the following configurations:

• With non-rubbing dust shields (name suffixes Z and ZZ)
• With rubbing oil seals (name suffixes RS and 2RS)
• With snap ring groove (name suffix N)
• With snap ring groove and ring (name suffix NR)
